This year, your gift is more important than ever. For many families, just one unanticipated event, such as the loss of a job or a steep rise in food prices, can force a family to choose between paying for child care, medicine and rent.

United Way has been and will continue to be there to support these individuals and families, but we can't do it alone. Only by working together can we help those who are struggling get the help they need.

We also encourage you to join a United Way Affinity Groups to learn more about opportunities for social change and see our programs in action by attending lectures, roundtable discussions, cocktail receptions and on-site visits.

Matching Gift

Many companies offer employees a matching gift benefit that increases your gift to United Way. If your company has a Matching Gift Program, obtain the proper matching gift form from your company and send it to:

Securities

If you have stocks or mutual funds that have appreciated, giving them to the United Way may allow you to avoid capital gains taxes while securing a tax deduction for yourself for the full value of the gift.
