There are basic things we all need for a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement and good health. Unfortunately, for too many families, these needs are out of reach.

United Way works to change that by leading initiatives that improve our communities. Our vision is of a strong and thriving community – one in which every person is able to realize his or her potential by having basic building blocks of a good life: Education, Income and Health.

We invite you to join us and to LIVE UNITED by donating your time through giving, advocating and volunteering.

GET INVOLVED

Amid citywide unemployment, a decrease in charitable donations and devastating Federal budget cuts, human service agencies are forced to do more with less. The pressure on these organizations right now has never been greater.

Nationally, a 40% cut in federal funding for emergency food has threatened the ability of our community’s emergency food suppliers’ to provide food for families. In difficult times, United Way’s role in the community is more important than ever.

With your help and involvement, United Way can continue to help struggling individuals and families access critical programs like food pantries, money management coaching, and dropout prevention services. You are also creating opportunities that lead to long-term financial independence, higher rates in high school graduation, and generations of healthy families.
